The Juniors Section is open to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 17.

We currently have 22 junior members and are actively looking to increase these numbers through a variety of initiatives. Stinchcombe Hill has a rich history of junior golf, producing many outstanding golfers and providing a safe and welcoming environment for kids to learn the game.

Junior Coaching nights
Throughout the summer we run group coaching sessions for Juniors every Thursday:
17:00 – 18:00; Introduction to golf coaching for juniors who are new to golf and looking to learn the fundamental skills of golf in a fun environment.
18.00 – 19.00; Pathway Coaching for juniors with a handicap or who are working towards their first handicap to fine tune their technique both on the practice range and the course.
These sessions cost £20 for the month and places are limited, please contact the Pro Shop to book your place.

We host a Junior Open every year.

We are actively looking for volunteers to grow our Junior Committee so that we can increase our coaching sessions and junior competitions over the course of the year. For more information please contact either the Pro Shop or Steve Phillips.

Juniors

Hi All

I have volunteered to take on the task of organising the Juniors section at Stinchcombe. The club has a rich history of junior golf, producing many outstanding golfers and more importantly providing an environment for juniors to learn the game and enjoy playing with other kids of a similar age.

With no real activity for a number of years we have a lot to do! I am currently undergoing the necessary safeguarding training and background checks to take on the role and we are looking into whether funding is available. To start off I would really welcome some feedback from you.

Given that we are already in May, we won’t be able to launch a full Juniors schedule until 2022 but I would like to think that we can organise some activity over the summer.

Ideas that we currently have include:
• Group Coaching sessions and Junior Club nights
• An ‘introduction to golf’ programme
• Card marking sessions for Juniors who are ready to get a handicap
• Junior events and competitions
• Friendly matches with other clubs (with a view to entering a league when we are ready)

I would really appreciate it if you would take the time to email either myself (stevephillips28578@gmail.com) or Gail with some feedback on what you would like to see over the coming months.

Once the restrictions are lifted and we can meet inside, we can organise an opportunity to meet for a drink and discuss ideas. I’d also love to hear from any of you who would be interested in helping in any capacity.

I look forward to hearing from you

Steve
